SUN DRU-THI

a dusk to dawn concept album, it immediately captured our imagination with its lucid insanity and the emotional charge of this openly auto biographical attempt to make sense of an otherwise hazy reality. amsterdam sex parlors and openair techno raves, golden cages and long black snakes, with feverish lust, drug-filled euphoria and desperation Sun Dru-thi gives in to the inevitable in a long, long night to remember. remarkable is the song "il giardino dei giochi di Hassan" a musical adaptation in italian of William Burroughs' sickest passage in his Naked Lunch: Hassan's rumpus room. Sun Dru-thi's vocals at times recall a Peter Murphy locked up in a basement with a FruityLoops freak and a bunch of stoners. terrific. definitely not for the faint-hearted - we believe this is an extraordinary piece of work and we're proud of this release.

headlessHEADLESS :: sway

And you thought Riot Grrrl was dead? In truth though, this insolent all-girl quartet from the north of the Capital packs a noisier and far more sinister punch than any of those angry young women of the early 90’s. Their layers of fucked-up guitar create a suffocating sonic peasouper which in a live situation could probably shrivel an indie boy’s gonads at twenty paces... Artrocker. Here are some really angry riot grrrly-esque “banshees” making music with more balls than most of the grunge and garage rock bands touting about at the moment. Think Sleater-Kinney taking pointers from early PJ Harvey, and it wouldn't be nearly half as bitter as this quartet of screechers. Quality. The Stool Pigeon. All tracks are swamped in glorious distortion, with strong raw growling vocals conjuring up images of an angry P.J. Harvey in the early days. Think late seventies Lydia Lunch with actual songs! 84%. Spill Magazine. The Headless ladies first three tracks seem to progress further into some twisted, noisy place with every listen. The title track is the vicious snapper, it's Hole done through a taut, new wave hook... PlayLouder.

HEAVY CANDIES :: Carolyn Jones, see her fly

"Carolyn Jones, see her fly" is the title of their debut EP, an homage to the actress who will be forever remembered for her role as Morticia in the 60's sitcom series the Addams Family. the opening tune "from a distance" will leave you puzzled - sounds like a dance floor anthem at first but as soon as some rather mean samples make an entry and you pay attention to the lyrics you'll immediately detect the subtle angst and morbid twist of this electro-pop anti-song. and there you go, just in case you had some doubts, "choose me" comes next with its distorted kicks, speed garage bass lines and nasty guitars - a celebration to drugs and alcohol fuelled one night stands. the closing song "walk my dreams" doesn't get any darker than this... eerie from the start, the song progresses further into lackluster territories only to explode at the end with a superb outburst of angst.
